Where are you located?
I am located on the south side of Sheboygan, Wis. and serve Sheboygan County and the surrounding areas, including Sheboygan Falls, Plymouth, Howard Grove, Kiel, New Holstein, Oostburg, Cedar Grove, Port Washington, Manitowoc, Two Rivers and more.
Where does the session take place?
Studio sessions take place in my home studio and can accommodate small children and families. The majority of my sessions are shot outdoors at various locations I have scouted both in local cities and the surrounding countryside. I also offer in-home lifestyle sessions as well as lifestyle sessions on location at a place of your choosing.
What about outfits?
Oh, I love clothing and picking out outfits for families! After you schedule your session, I will be in touch to discuss clothing options for you and your family. I’m a big fan of color, layers and texture in clothing and will work with you to help you find the perfect wardrobe. I have a Pinterest board with tons of inspiration for clothing – check my Photography Style Guide.
Also, take the time to read this great article on what to wear for family pictures!
Do you include the digital files?
All sessions include a set number of high-resolution, professionally edited files with a print release. I provide your gallery with color and black and white images and all are sharable from your gallery on social media. Additional images may be purchased if desired at $20/image or a heavily-discounted rate for the entire session gallery.
Are my images retouched?
Every image in your gallery is color-corrected and professionally edited, removing fly away hairs, smoothing skin and removing blemishes. There are very few things I cannot correct in Photoshop, so just let me know if you have any special requests! Extensive retouching, such as braces removal, will require an additional fee per image.
Do you deliver all the images you shoot?
I am notorious for overshooting! I generally shoot 10 times the number images I present to you in your final gallery, ensuring that we get lots of beautiful images to work with. For a family session that includes 30-40 images, I may very well shoot 500 images and then narrow them down during editing to the best of the best! This way, I make sure we don’t end up with blurry shots or ones with everyone’s eyes closed!
Where should I print my images?
I upload your gallery to an online proofing site, where you are able to download the high resolution images included in your session package. You are free to print at a lab of your choosing, though I will strongly recommend a few to you in your ordering instructions. You also have the option of ordering prints directly from your gallery, fulfilled by my lab of choice – White House Custom Color. They offer superior quality images and reasonable prices with fast shipping to get your images to you as quickly as possible! I’ve been using them professionally for nearly 15 years and have never been disappointed.
Can I keep the images from my session private?
Yes. All of my clients have the option of opting out from Facebook sneak peaks and use of the images for promotional materials. I understand and respect that not everyone wants to have their images posted on social media. All session galleries are password protected and only you (or anyone you give the password to) can access them.
I need only a few images – do you offer mini sessions?
I believe that photography shouldn’t be rushed and really enjoy spending the time to get to know my clients, their personalities and understand family dynamics. I offer a variety of sessions to meet most people’s needs, but if you’re looking for something I don’t have listed, please contact me with your needs and we’ll work to create a package that works best for you! You’ll find that I’m very flexible – I want to make this a great experience for you!
Great! We’re ready to book, what next?
I can’t wait to work with you! Head over here to book your session. You’ll be able to sign your contract and pay your $50 non-refundable deposit to hold your time. The balance of your session fee is due by the day of your session. I will send you an invoice with the balance and you can pay using a credit/debit card or echeck. You may also pay cash the day of your session if you prefer.
I ask all clients to fill out a short questionnaire, which I will email to the address you provide. This helps me get to know you and your family a little better and have an idea of what you are most looking to capture during your session.
