Since I’ve had a few questions on how the free high resolution images included in your session package work, I thought I’d write a tutorial on how to order them via your gallery, step-by-step with images, to make is as easy as possible for you.
Start by navigating in your web browser to the unique gallery link I emailed you. You will see a page something like this that prompts you for your password (also included in the email I sent you). Enter your password and click “Enter.”
That will take you to the full gallery of your images. Here you can see all the images that were taken and edited of your session.
Note that by hovering your cursor over an image, it looks like this:
See the icons in the upper right hand corner of the image – the heart, shopping cart and arrow? You can select favorite images by clicking on the heart icon. This is a good way to keep track of what images you might want to order in your package. The arrow icon can be used to share images on social media. Just click it and select where you’d like to share from the drop down menu. Note that images shared on social media will have my watermark on them, however, images purchased through your gallery will not.
For this example, I’m going to show you how to order the set number of images included in your session package. This example is a senior photo session, which included 20 high resolution images. Select the first image you’d like to include and click the cart icon (the middle one in the upper right). That will bring you to your shopping cart, which looks like this:
You’ll notice that your session package pops up as the first item on the list of available products. The price listed is the total cost of items without the coupon code I have provided you (the coupon code will reduce this amount to $0 as we’ll see in a little bit). Here we’re going to click “Add to Cart.” You’ll notice that you’re brought back to the gallery screen and the cart icon in the upper right now has an orange “1” over it (see below, upper right of the image):
Next, click this cart icon and you’ll be taken to the following page where you will begin to choose the images in your package (note it reads 0/20 images selected under the “20 Images Package”). Next to that is grey text that reads “Select Photos” – you’re going to click that link.
You’ll get the package ordering tool to pop up. It looks like below. You are going to click on each of the grey boxes with the plus sign and add each of the photos you would like to order in your package until the package is full (again, this varies depending on what session you purchased).
When you have finished selecting all your photos, your package should look something like below. Simply click “Done” when you are happy with your selection. (Please note, you must select all images in your package at once when ordering … the system will stop you if you haven’t included all images and prompt you to add more to reach the amount included in the package.)
Your shopping cart will pop back up and here you have the option of adding addition image files for download above the ones included in your session package or adding physical prints/canvases/metal prints. For the purpose of this tutorial, we’re just going to order the images included in your session. Once you have everything in your shopping cart that you’d like to order, click “Checkout”.
You’ll be taken to the checkout screen, which looks like below. You’ll see here that the image package is in your cart.
Under “Order Summary” you will see a total. Under that are options to “Apply a coupon” or “Apply a gift card.” For your package, we are going to click on “Apply a coupon” and in the box that pops up (see below) enter the coupon code I sent you (this varies with each order, so be sure to use the one I sent you). Click “Apply.”
You will see that your new total is $0. (see below). In order to receive your digital downloads, you’ll need to fill out the billing and shipping information on the right side of the screen. If you are just ordering the included package you will not be prompted to enter any billing information. The email you list is the email where your high resolution downloads will be sent.
Once you’ve completed that, you’ll see the information you entered under “Billing and Shipping Info” and “Shipping Method” will read “Digital Delivery.” You will also see that there is no payment required at this time. (see below).
Click “Place Order” and you will receive a confirmation page with confirmation number. A receipt and link to download your high resolution images will be sent shortly to the email you provided above. When you are done, click “Finish.”
If you run into any problems ordering through your unique gallery, please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be happy to help guide you through it. Your satisfaction is very important to me and I want to make this processes as smooth a possible!
Regarding ordering your own prints: I strongly encourage you to spend a little extra money and order from a professional printer online like White House Custom Color (WHCC) or Miller’s Professional Imaging. I have been using WHCC for more than 15 years and have always been impressed with their quality and quick delivery. I recommend choosing a lustre finish for your prints (instead of glossy).
Here is a tutorial for uploading and printing your images with WHCC if you want to do it on your own instead of ordering through your online gallery – Tutorial with video
I discourage ordering your prints from local chain stores as you have already invested a lot of money into the beautiful prints you have selected and unfortunately, local chain stores do not have the printing capabilities to accurately match colors to the images you’ve selected. Clickin’ Moms has a great post here on consumer photo labs versus professional photo labs that’s worth reading over if I haven’t already convinced you. It really doesn’t cost much more to order from a professional lab and the results are well worth the extra pennies!
I want you to be happy with your printed images and have them to treasure for years to come!
